This past weekend was busy for us, but it was a great weekend. We sang three concerts over the course of the weekend, each one was special and unique.
We started the weekend off Saturday evening at Joy Fellowship in Indian River, MI. We had a great time with Pastor Moody, and the folks there at Joy Fellowship. Before the concert started we had an opportunity to meet, and get to know many of the folks there at the Church. One couple asked for us to pray for them regarding a financial situation. I would just ask that you pray about this as well, that the Lord’s will be done in this situation. We had a great concert, the people were very friendly, and were able to meet many new people.
Sunday Morning we sang at Hillman Free Methodist Church. This is the Church that Will, our bass singer, grew up in. We sang a couple songs during the morning service, after which there was a potluck. Once everyone had eaten we sang for about an hour. We laughed, we cried, we had just a wonderful time. This Church will be getting a new Pastor next week. We pray that everything will go well with this transition. The people at Hillman Free Methodist were great, they really made us feel at home.
Sunday evening we were at Beaver Lake Community Church. This is the home Church of our bass singer, Will, and his wife Charlotte. We had just an awesome time with the folks there. They really got into the music, which made for another great evening. We met a lot of new people, and many people were blessed by the service. In conversing with many of the folks after the concert I had an opportunity to speak with one particular woman that has a pretty bad case of asthma and emphysema. We just ask that you remember her in prayer, that the Lord will touch her body and heal her if it be His will.
We had just a great time at all three Church’s this past weekend. We meet a lot of new people over the weekend, many of them told us that they received a blessing from the services. We were invited back to all three of the Church’s. We hope to be able to put something together to possibly be at all three again next year.
We were able to stay at the home of our bass singer, Will, and his wife Charlotte for the weekend. We had a wonderful time with them, and they were great hosts. I think we all came home about a pint down on blood from all the mosquito’s, but it was worth it. Because Will lives so far away from the rest of us Charlotte doesn’t travel down with him very often. It was good to be able to spend a couple days with them, and get to know her a little better. The next time you travel through Hillman stop by and try some of Charlotte’s fried chicken. It beats Colonel Sanders any day of the week. Just tell them Bill sent you, and be sure to give Will a hard time for me as well.
Next weekend we will be singing at Faith Fellowship Church in Irons, MI. This is the Church that my aunt and uncle attend. We look forward to being with them. This is the last service for their Pastor before he retires. We look forward to being with them, and are privileged to be a part of this special service. If you are vacationing in the area over the holiday weekend we invite you out to Faith Fellowship.
Our sympathy and regrets go out to the Royalheirs, and the family of Duane Grimes. Duane was the lead singer for the Royalheirs. Duane went home to Heaven this past week and is now face to face with the one that he had sang about for so many years. Duane spent most of his life singing southern gospel music. He sang with the Calvarymen for a while, other groups, and for the past several years with the Royalheirs. Duane was a great man of God, and will be dearly missed.
Come back and check out our “Pictures” page. I am in the process of reworking it, I hope to have it finished in the next day or two.
Also, if you were at one of the concerts this past weekend we would love to hear your comments in our guest book.
Have A Great Week,
God Bless,
Bill P.
