Bought And Paid For 7300 5 Mile Road East Leroy, MI 49051 | THE LATEST ON BOUGHT AND PAID FOR: June 30, 2008 This past weekend was awesome to say the least. We were busy, but we had a great time. We had 4 concerts in three days. Friday night, and Saturday night, we were at New Hope Chapel in Prudenville, MI. We were there singing along with Pastor Wyncoop, Southern Praise, and Mark & Andrea Forester. The concerts were planned to be held outdoors, but the threatening weather forced us to make the decision to move the concert’s inside. It turned out that we made a good decision. Both evenings about halfway through the concert storms moved through the area. It rained very hard, along with strong winds and lightning. The lightning caused the power to flash a few times each night which played havoc on the sound system. Many folks in the area didn’t know that the concert was to be held rain or shine so the crowds were down a little bit. But, those that did attend heard some great gospel music from all those that performed. I think it also worked out to be inside because I think the mosquitos would probably have carried us away. We pray that the people were blessed by our music, but I know that we were tremendously blessed by the other groups. Andrea was great as always, and Mark wasn’t too bad either (Just kidding Mark). Friday night Mark & Andrea’s 3 year old son Tyler came up and played “I’ll Fly Away” on his Mandolin with his Mom and Dad, and was the hit of the night. We also enjoyed the ministry of Al and Mary Ann of Southern Praise. Not only did we enjoy their music, but also their tacos from their food truck that they brought. We ask that you continue to pray for Brother Al of Southern Praise. He has battled lung cancer in the past and beat it. Unfortunately he has received word from the doctors that the cancer may be back. We just pray the Lord would lift him up, and that His will be done in Al’s life.
We didn’t have anything scheduled for Sunday morning originally. The folks at New Hope Chapel were generous enough to put us up in a home that they have set up for special guests. Our plan was to stay there Saturday night, attend the morning service at New Hope Chapel, and then head to Stanton, MI for our evening concert. When Pastor Wyncoop found out that we didn’t have anything planned for Sunday morning he asked that we sing in their morning service to kick off their 4 day revival services. We had a great time again Sunday morning at New Hope Chapel. We started out the service and got the people ready for a great message brought by Pastor Black from South Carolina. We had a great time with the people at New Hope Chapel over the three days that we were there. They were very warm, and enjoyed the music. It was a great time to catch up with some old friends, as well as make some new ones. We look forward to an opportunity to go back to New Hope Chapel in the future.
Sunday evening was a new experience for some of us. We had the opportunity to sing at Nevins Lake Bible Church in Stanton, MI. Through the summer months they hold an outdoor drive in service. They have many different groups that come in to sing. It was a different experience because we are used to having the people that attend our concert’s sitting right in front of us. The folks at the drive in service were right in front of us, but they were in their cars, or sitting just outside their cars. Instead of applause we would get honked at by the car horns. It was a great experience, which we hope we can do again in the future. It was our first time at Nevins Lake Bible Church, and we hope it’s not our last. The people there were very friendly, and we really had a great time.
Sorry to be so long this week, but we had a lot to report. Check back later in the week as we will be posting some pictures from the weekend.
